Cucumbers & Peaches today!

Our fruits and veggies are growing beautifully, some a bit faster than others though!

The first batch of our cucumbers were ready to be picked today! The peaches have ripened too, and they’re juicy and sweet.

Good to know:

Cucumbers are low in calories, carbohydrates, sodium, and cholesterol, making them a healthy diet option, and a low-calorie food if you want to lose weight.

Cucumbers are hydrating and refreshing too because they are made up of 95% water, and are also great to eat as a snack (I like to dip mine in hummus!).

They contain several antioxidants, as well as flavonoids that have anti-inflammatory properties, vitamins C and K, calcium, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium.

Cucumbers can also have a cooling and soothing effect that can help to decrease swelling, irritation and inflammation when used topically (cucumber slices on your eyes can help to decrease morning puffiness).

Peaches can help to boost our immune system as they contain vitamin C.

They also contain vitamins A and E, folate, niacin, potassium, magnesium, and zinc.

Great to eat as a snack, or added to fruit salad, and they are always the star in a peach cobbler!
